Kate Mclaren Quartet
Starting out life as a trio, the Kate Mclaren Quartet are a vibrant collaboration playing a wide selection of classic songs in their own unique style. Refusing the norm of the typical pub covers band, the quartet's distinct jazz-influenced sound is the result of a fresh combination of the sweet vocals of Kate Mclaren, Cris Tolley on jazz guitar, Paul Smith on double bass, and Josh Ting on drums. The quartet perform regularly at functions and public venues in the Warwickshire, Midlands and South East.
University of Warwick Big Band
An international Big Band with a varied repertoire, playing everything from swing to jazz, latin, funk and blues. Credits include the prestigious Montreux, Vienna, and Alma Jazz Festivals. The band performs to a wide audience, from private functions and University balls to its own highly popular concerts, as well as annual tours to International Jazz Festivals.
Smaller jazz groups are also put together from players from the Big Band for the right setting - labelled on this site as UoWBB Small Band.
Tom Lindsay Jazz
Josh plays with a variation of jazz groups made up of a selection of experienced instrumentalists and vocalists, led by Birmingham Conservatoire's Tom Lindsay. The band are put together dependent on the requirement of the function or environment, and create music from a wide range of genres, including traditional and modern jazz, funk and latin. Credits include the internationally-acclaimed Alma Jazz Festival.
FUNKtion
This dance-inducing band are put together dependent on the requirement of the setting, and create music from a wide range of genres, including classic rock, soul, funk, blues and jazz. This flexible collaboration performs in groups of different sizes, offering anything from an instrumental jazz trio to a mini swing band line-up with vocals. This young collective is primarily based in Warwickshire, and perform regularly in the surrounding area, and are available for a variety of performances and functions.
